On 14th of March 2016, the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Lebanese Republic, Aghasalim Shukurov met with the Minister of Culture, Raymond Araiji.

Touching on Azerbaijan’s rich heritage and historical monument, the ambassador pointed out that Azerbaijan is the first parliamentary republic in the eastern Islamic country to establish opera, ballet and theater, adding that it hosted the international conferences and forums on the basis of culture, dialogue among civilization, religious tolerance and other humanitarian spheres.

The First Lady of Azerbaijan, the UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mehriban Aliyeva is recognized as philanthropist and humanitarian with regard to show care for culture, tourism, sport, education, and health throughout Azerbaijan and internationally. The historical and religious monuments including mosque, church and repair works of synagogues was implemented by the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva.

R. Araiji pointed out the importance of cultural and humanitarian events to take part in the direction of mutual participation over the diverse cultural events, exhibitions, conferences and symposiums for the establishment of relations between the two countries.
