On 15th of March 2016, the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Lebanese Republic, Aghasalim Shukurov met with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdel Mutalleb al-Hinawi.

The youth and sports policy has a great significance for the country’s leadership stated the ambassador. Azerbaijan has successfully organized a number of prestigious international events in hosting events such as the first European Olympic Games 2015 and Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe 2016, considering the Islamic Solidarity and Games 2017 and the European Football Championship 2020 will be held in the future.  

Abdel al-Hinawi noted that it necessary to sign memorandum of understanding for the cooperation of Lebanon with Azerbaijan in the direction of preparation of Lebanese athletes by the Azerbaijani trainers.
