On 31st of March 2016, the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Lebanese Republic, Aghasalim Shukurov met with the Honorary Consular Corps of Lebanon and the Honorary Consular of the Republic of Singapore, Joseph Habis.

After the gain of independency, Azerbaijan has been represented by the honorary consular in Lebanon. The establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lebanese Republic has entered a new phase of relationships between the two countries.

In 1974, J. Habis was appointed the Honorary Consular of the Republic of Singapore to Lebanon and the Honorary Consular Corps in 1986.

J. Habis has achieved a great reputation with Lebanese businessmen in various areas of trades, banks, engineers, doctors and lawyers. The honorary consulars have made great contribution for the development of relationships between represented countries and Lebanon.

Afterwards, J. Habis has appreciated the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lebanese Republic with expressing in confidence that this step will push forward the growth of relationships between the two countries, adding the readiness of cooperation with Azerbaijan thoroughly.
