On 20th of July 2016, the ambassador, Aghasalim Shukurov met with the Prime Minister, Tammam Salam.

The ambassador talked about the participation of Azerbaijan in transnational economic projects such as international summits and conferences, hosting championships and Olympics. The charitable activities including the construction of schools and hospitals, social projects have been carried out in some regions of the world by the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the First Lady of Azerbaijan, the UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mehriban Aliyeva. The works of repair and restore have been conducted in the world’s considerable historical and cultural monuments of Palace of Versailles, Berlin Castle, Louvre and Vatikan Museums.

The accreditation of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lebanon has been    mentioned by the ambassador. In 2015, the creation of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lebanon has been noted. However, in contrast to the corresponding principle, the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic and the accreditation of any of the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic have not been established in Azerbaijan till now stated the ambassador.

The ambassador pointed out his desire for close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lebanon on the areas of trade, economy, oil and gas industry and investment, adding the importance of establishing the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic in Azerbaijan in the direction of strengthening the relationships.

T. Salam appreciated the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lebanon, in which it will engage in a major role for developing relationships between the two countries. T. Salam expressed his regret of the launch of the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic in Azerbaijan furthermore looking forward that it will be solved shortly after the presidential deadlock.

The ambassador draw attention to the negotiation process that was carried out under the representatives of the OSCE Minsk Group over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict where 20% of the territories of Azerbaijan have been occupied and more than one million refugees have been displaced in the consequence of Armenian brutality.
